Help! door lock cylinder
My passenger door was working fine. But, now it stays shut when using the electronic door opener. Also when trying to flip the door lock from inside, it does not work. In order to open it, i have to turn the key, and pull the handle at the same time. I am trying to figure out what the problem is, but can't get the door lock cylinder out. Anyone have any tips?

RE: Help! door lock cylinder
Wish I could help you but I am in the same boat. Maybe we can both get an answer. Wifes 2002 Civic EX driver's door won't lock or unlock electronicly or with the inside manual lock (its stuck in the up position) The only way to lock/unlock the door is with the key. Is that the actuator that is bad? My email address is mplesh@propmakers.com
thanks in advacne for any help

The rod may have slipped off or the actuator may have gone bad. The only way to know for sure is to take the door panel off.

RE: Help! door lock cylinder
Thanks for the replies. I finally managed to get the panel off, and now trying to figure out what tha actual problem is. I am guessing it is the soleoid but it may be that the rod has fallen off as Phil suggested. I'm old with bad eyes, and can't see where the rod meets the solenoid. Do I need to take everything else apart? If it is the solenoid, is there a better place to buy a new one other than Honda?
Thanks again,
