well i looked all around the engine, the manual for the car, but i cant tell if it has a vetc. i can tell you its british specs its a 98 3 door hatch back 1.5i ls but on the car on the back it says vetc, wouldnt it say on the engine if its a vetc or maybe on the title? can anyone help please i think the engine size is like 1492cc if that helps, not sure on the last number though.

 

if it was a vtec it would be on the engine somewhere....check that or do a carfax report

 

It wouldnt' necessarily say "vtec" on the engine somewhere. I am not that familiar with UK models, but what is the engine code? It should be stamped onto a little flat spot on the block just to the left of the exhaust manifold.

Probably say D15B-something...

 

You have either a EDM D15B 3 stage vtec or a EDM D15Z6 what trim level is your car. And yes I said correctly a D15Z6

 

ok my engine number is D15z61201970 cylinder capacity is 1493 cc if that helps to

 

It is a SOHC vtec 130hp 107tq with 9.2 to 1 compression ratio

 

If it's got a vtec solenoid, then it's got vtec.

You got any VTEC stickers on the car yet? Each one adds about 10HP.

 

look around by the disributor for a solinoid with a green wire with a white stripe. if you have one of those then you have vtec.
