Well, I was actually paying attention to the stock shift light... and I can put my car in 5th at 45 and it tells me to upshift!!! Or if I'm running 80 it tells me to upshift. Can someone please tell me how Honda wants you to upshift from 5th when you have a 5 speed??? I just thought this was amusing.

 

i am asuming that you have one of those aftermarket cannon sized tacks in your car.. hmm. i think when the light comes on when your going 45 it may be telling you to downshift... i know that in my Girlfriends dads old cavalier it would do that (yeah i know that it is blasphemy to compare a civic to a cavalier... i think i am going to go hit myself now)

 

No, actually I'm talking about the stock shift light in the cluster... lol. No huge monster tach for me... I'm lookin for a si tach, I dont like the big ones..

Yeah... it's that annoying little green arrow near the right blinker... I hate it. It gets really annoying doin 70 down the thruway with the little green light stuck on telling me to shift to 6th. lol.

 

take out the cluster and cut the wire so it dosent go on..i have a shift lite (aftermarkit) because it came with the tack but i never use it now, i just put it so that if i go over like 5,000 it goes on just to give me a little warning my cars slow lol

 

or instead of cuting the wire you could just take the bulb out.... a lot simpler cause with the cluster there is no one wire going to each bulb

 

weird... my 95 cx doesn't do that. It does tell me to go to fifth when I'm goin 45 or so, but after I'm in fifth it leaves me alone.

I feel your pain the light in my wrangler blinks ALL THE TIME with my oversize tires and I KEEP FORGETTING to take the bulb out! It really SUCKS!!!

 

yeah... maybe if i read the manual I'll be able to find some secret gear... lol
