ORIGINAL: knoklu

dsm t25, its a smaller turbo but spools up real quick and there real cheap used or rebuilt if your on a budget like me lol still in school.
T25s are pretty common, they're ineternally gated at 8psi so it simiplifies things a bit, and thats about the PSI you want to be running with them anyway. They can be picked up for fairly cheap and spool quickly, pretty much what you want for a DD IMO. At 8 psi, you'll prolly be a little bit below 200 hp so you should be safe with that. I picked up a VJ11 turbo out of an old Probe/Mazda ant its internally gated a 7 PSI. its really similar to the T25 so that will work as well, but you wont be able to find htem as easily at T25

What type of turbo can I run without pushing my engine over the limit and causing me even more money. The engine right now has a3-2-1 header with a full exhaust, anda lot of dress-up items that were on it whenI bought the car. I am aware that I will need to upgrade a few other things, like the ecu and fuel system. but the thing I don't know is how much of the fuel system I will need to upgrade. just the injecters? or a new fuel rail and pump also? I need lots of help guys.

I have a stock ex motor (d16y8) bolt on turbo and tuned. I’m currently running 9psi and I daily it. As long as your not ******* the car everyday everywhere you go you’ll be fine up to that range. You start driving like a pissed off teenager then you’ll blow your head gasket or cause a major issue. But I stress it’s all how you drive it. I’ll list my current set up below..

Motor- Bone stock d16y8 from a 98 ex (obd2a)
add ons:
-AEM 340lph
-FIC 1000cc injectors
- GT35 Turbo .70ar(compressor) .93AR(turbine)
- 2.5” charge piping
- Mishimoto M Line intercooler
- HKS SSQV bov
-AEM AFR
- PLM top mount manifold (modified for gt35 turbo)
- skunk2 mega power RR 76mm(3”) exhaust
-custom 3” test pipe
- 3” downpipe
- precision turbo 46mm wastegate with atmospheric dump tube
-Hondata s300 V3

like I said the motor is completely stock internally I’m running the stock fuel rail for now stock fuel filter it’s putting around 220-250 to the wheels after the tune. But again I drive it most days like I would a regular car and don’t abuse it. I do regular oil changes and just keep checking gaskets and seals for leaks to stay on top of it.
