Default How much is my car worth???

i need to see if someone can assist. my transmission broke. 2002 honda civic lx 1.7. fair condition.. 170000 miles. wat should i ask for as fixing it is going to cost $2700. or is it worth keeping it?

First, shop around at several different reputable shops for the lowest price to fix.

Second, ask yourself whether you would be able to purchase a running car as good as the current one for $2700. I think it's unlikely.

I say keep it.$ 2700 sounds high you can find a cheaper fix.

$2700 seems a bit high, look for used transmissions out there either the junk yard, or craigslist. and a shop would probably install it for $500

Thanks for the advice guys... i will shop around too.. i am atlanta.. if i was dont decide to keep it, how much do you guys think i should ask for from the repair shop without the transmission? $2000???
