i'd rather have a 92-95 with a swap or a 99-00 Si than a new civic.
I like having my Del Sol though. It's a 93 and people ask me what year it is and i have them guess first and they always guess like 2000 or 2001 (of course these are people who don't know the Del Sol was discontinued in 97.)
i'd say it's probably mainly the price though. why would you buy a new civic ('08) when you could buy an '06 (looks the same) for substantially less and basically the same car just a little older? Or why would you buy a new civic when you could buy one that's 10 years old with 100K miles for 1/5 of the price? It's still got like 200K life left if you take care of it. Unless you specifically want a new car and have 20K to shell out, it's best to just buy used, especially when talking Hondas.

98 civic LX 141,000 $3000. got bent over on this one. i got a little excited about getting a civic so i could park my gas hog cadillac, and the civic turned out to need a LOT of work. still does. oh well, nuthin that cant be fixed.
