HX to EX header swap?

HX to EX header swap?
I drive and an HX and am looking to replace my exhaust systems.
I understand that the D16Y5 has the cat integrated into the exhaust manifold and my question here is weather or not to convert the header to that of an EX?
What are the advantages to swapping the header and is it any better than just running a cat-back on the original HX set up? Is it difficult to relocate the O2 sensor on and aftermarket header? How can I keep my original cat without welding?
yes I've read the write ups and the DIY but neither are very detailed. I'd appreciate a vet's perspective.
