I was just wondering if there's anyone who could give me some advice on what I would need to do to make my 1993 civic ex (1.6 d16z6) faster than (or at least be able to keep up with) a new VW Golf GTI; and if possible, do it without a turbo.

 

first thing is taking that rediculous wing off of there (its not a shopping cart) next thing is without a turbo would be an engine swap to a k series, then without a turbo, i would supercharge it

ew no for a b16. I would go for a h22 swap in your car because that is a fun swap to do and can be had for less than like 1500 with Ls tranny. I believe. then upgrade that. but if you just want to make your car faster rebuild your engine go with higer compression pistons. thicker rods. make it a stroker and all that jazz.

 

Gonna have to step in on the wing.. I would sell it and get some headlights, imo, it makes any civic look alot more aggressive.

Sorry if you guys don't like the wing, but I do. As for what I've done already, I have a "header"-back exhaust, and I say it like that cause I don't have the header yet. One single pipe from front to back, custom bent. I'm saving for the header next. I also have an intake.

Umm... grab a new intake manifold for about 200-300. I believe that would be around 30hp right there. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
