From ur description, it sounds like it's just a resonator. If you can look through the pipe from one end and see out the other, it's not a cat. Cats have a bunch of screen type filters in them which you can't see through. You will not pass emissions.

plus 1 side has da 3 bolt on section dat bolts to da cat-bak, (which did with no problem) n da other has 2 with da inner edge bent inwards for da gasket on da downpipe. plus it had 2 bolts where da O2 sensors go but i got 1 n goes on da header.

This is a picture directly from andysautosport.com and of the Option Racing Hi Flow Cat.

The little picture on the top right hand corner is a shot looking into the cat. You can see there is a little screen looking thing inside. That is what cleans the exhaust allowing you to pass emissions. You cannot look through a catalytic converter.

Like I said before, if you do not see these screens in there and you can see straight through the pipe, you WILL fail emissions.

This is the Tradesonic Hi-Flow Cat

I cannot be 100%, but that definitely looks like a resonator.

Does it look something like this inside?

If so, it is a resonator.
