Can't equate speed with quality. Comfortable cost effective longivity is what the informed driver looks for unless of course you happen to be a teenie bopper looking for the speed rush. Once you run 200+ mph & especially if your paying for the ride the thrill wears thin.

i have a 97 honda civic vtec head (d16y8) shaved 3 angle valve job and ported on intake and vtec solenoid is attached for sale if anybody's interested email me at mitchkaren1225@yahoo.com

for 100$

any info on R18A1? 140 hp. 1.8L 2006+ honda civic not SI though, 10.5:1 140hp@6300/174Nm@4300

how come some civic valve covers say HONDA and others V-TEC

Its hard to tell what kind of motor you have when it is covered in red paint but it looks like you have a 1.6 SOHC NON VTEC
its actually vtec, you can tell by the vtec solinode and having the spark plugs in front. all D15-D16 SOHC engines with Vtec have there spark plugs located on the front of the valve cover, and like i said before just look behind it for the vtech solinode,

all SOHC D series motors have their spark plugs in the front




i have a D15B7. it's a SOHC and has sparkplugs in the back

Where on the engine is the designation. I have a 96 civic EX, 1.6,according to your list it is a vtec engine?

Correct...D16Y8. Although the Canadian EX may not be the Y8...not sure
