That's right. If you only had $500 to spend on a performance related mod (increase HP, better handling, etc.) what would you spend it on?

Got an almost stock 95 civic 2dr with an RS Type exhaust and its been lowered. Had a SRI but had to take it out (long story).

Looking for anything that would slightly improve performance under $500.

BeforeI would do anything, I'd make suremy cargot a complete tune up. That alone can make your car a bit faster. But after that got done, maybe an intake which can increase gas mileage and horsepower. It works both ways. It depends how much you spend, but after look at headers and/or exhaust.

Replace spark plug wires, battery, spark plugs, and then suspension suspension suspension! My stock engine has ZERO potential so I focus on how fast I can take turns.

++1 haha, my engine isn't very fast stock also, and turning is ****ing awsome. I can go around a 5m raduis turn at about 80km/h, and still be in my seat.

Try do that in a van, truck, or a family sedan without rolling haha

Used nitrous kit. Either that, or bank the $500, get $1,000 more and buy a turbo kit and get it professionally tuned. 200WHP FTW. Cheaping out now by spending $500 on bolt ons will get you MAYBE 10WHP. Nitrous MIGHT get you 40 whp.......Save the $$ and spend 1,000 on a custom turbo kit, and 500$ on a pro tune.....youll make 200WHP safely, thats like 90 or so WHP more, that means you spent $16.66 per WHP gained......spending $500 to gain 10 WHP means you spent $50 per WHP gained................These are just estimates, but boost is the way to go......just gotta make sure you do it right.

Hmm. This is just a commuter car that I want to have a little pep. What would recommend for suspension? Right now I have an adjustable suspension, not sure if this thing has lowering/performance springs.

only effective way for a d series is boost, any other way, and you're just throwing money out the window. if only 500 for performance...well...i wouldn't buy anything performance oriented at all. i'd just buy something to dress it up and make it look better since it's still gonna be slow considering you money limit.
