I know this is a civic forum, but i'm thinking about seeling my not so mod freindly 03 civic. and picking up a 2001 integra grs. I've been reading a lot about the b17 motor. What i want to know, is what do you guys think about this car. Do the clutches last? would regular integra with the 140hp motor be easy to mod to the performance of the grs motor?
basicly i'm asking what kind of integra is best bang for the buck.
I'm just getting tired of my automatic civic with no power reaching the wheels.

 

the 2001 GS-R has the B18c1, not a B17. but i thik thats a great idea. the GS-R is a great car, and is very moddable. youll be very happy with it.

 

well being probably one of the biggest integra fans in the world i would say GO FOR IT!!!! if you can afford a TypeR then i would say the GSR is your best bang for buck, and i agree with you on the whole automatic thing... i find driving my civic quite boring at times. mind you i love the car... just wish it was faster/manual and as for the modding capabilities for the GSR... i am pretty sure that it would be second only to the civic for modding a honda,and you could probably get away with using some civic parts too since a lot of parts are interchangable between the two.

 

Insurance will be more on the GSR, but if you plan on just getting liability only anyway, it would be the better bang for your buck imo. Your gen of civic is one of my least favorite, and not worth modding imo. There's nothing like dropping gear and revving it up man, whatever you get, get the manual.

 

Sorry i ment to say b18. Any, it's a lovely idea. and the thought of having a car that is "quick" and resonable on gas. and has a great motor. and the thought that someday i can save up and put a turbo on it, and have a fast car. I love it. I'm going to call the guy tomorrow and see if he still has it. It has 45,000 miles on it. and looks in good condition. what do you guy think i should try to talk him down to. He wants 12,000 for it.

if not i'm only looking for GRS. anyway with the extra money for a Type R and can get a turbo and blow the Type Rs away.

 

but you'd still have just have a gsr...

 

tegs look good but their heavy, sell your civic and buy a 96-98 civic hatch and do a b18 gsr motor swap and then boost the craap out of it. and then you will smoke the turbo gsr's and the type R's
