hello
curious are we, is anyone here that has direct imports from Japan? are those legal to street drive due to the steering wheel location? anyone brought those to USA from Canada? any dues involved? NHTSA site says 2.5% on cars. real life experiences with customs?

ya its not illegal to have or drive them BUT it can be a PITA.... main thing people dont consider with there cool RHD new car is going thru any kind of drive thru! fast food, bank, toll booths... only thing a RHD vehicle is good for is delivering mail or news papers.

Ok lets clear this up I owned a JDM 96 ITR and it is really hard to insure nationwide insures them and there one of the few they are a bitch to register considering the 14 digit vin and all that nonsense. Now they are not illigal now if you would like to ask a pro my friend JJ at fast4wheels.com can tell ya all you need to know. Now with it isnt worth the price you will pay for it though. Oh if ya do eat at Checkers....
