Keyless Entry/Power Locks

My keyless entry on my 03 Civic now only works to unlock the doors but it will not work to lock the doors. Also pressing the lock button inside the car will not lock the drivers door but only the passenger doors. Anyways else have this problem or know how to fix?

button should lock all doors if your door is closed, otherwise just passenger doors (similar to how in older generations, you couldn't lock driver's door by pressing the switch)

i'd replace the battery in the remotes to see if that fixes it, if not, look up how to reprogram the keyless remotes to the car

No its not the transmitter, its something to do with the master lock control

I noticed the same problem with my 2000 EX. It seems that when the drivers door is open, neither the door lock button inside the car or the lock button on the remote will actually lock the door.

However, when the door is closed, everything works OK. I'm wondering if it is a lubrication issue somehow ?

You need to hold the inside handle open while you press the door lock (if the door is open), this will lock all of the doors.

Your not alone, My '94 has the same problem. Remote unlocks doors, but doesn't lock them. The remote is from the alarm system that was wired to the power locks. I thought that was the problem. Maybe no, though. The system was profesionaly installed about 10-11 years ago.I'm curious to see the responces to this topic, myself.
