Default Lets talk about Gas Mileage

I now have 21,000 miles on my 06 Civic Coupe. Great car and great gas mileage. I drive it to work in traffic and around town and get 36 to 38 mpg. The lowest I have gotten was around 32 when driving in the mountains in low gear. I have not been on any long trips so I don't know the actual Hwy mileage yet.
So what year and modelHonda do you have and what mileagedo you get out of it?

I drive a 97 LX sedan and I get about 32 in the winter and 38-40 in the summer while driving a combination of highway and city.

Here are some of my gas mileage tips:

accelerate/brake lightly- If you see the light is red or turning red, coast to it while remaining in the gear. don't downshift until you see yourself timing the light to hit the green Not only does this save your mpg's it conserves the life of your brakes and your tranny over time as well.

I double shift, I go from 3rd to 5th with one complete motion. I don't clutch separately for 4th gear. I hold down the clutch and go from 3rd to 5th quickly and smoothly.

I lowered my antenna all the way down to reduce the drag resistance. I also keep my car's exterior washed and waxed to help ever so slightly.

Keep the car clean and clutter free inside, too much garbage can lead to excessive weight.

I keep my tires inflated higher than suggested in the manual. It's a bit stiffer, but helps a lot.

And I also removed the resinator box under the hood to get better more crisp air flow.

Making sure your essentials are covered and replaced as necessary such as the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, wires, etc. Those make a huge difference.

So thats all, drive safe out there and enjoy the mpg's and good luck.

I have a 2007 Civic LX coupe that is about 6 months old and has just under 5000 miles. I have noticed that I am not getting the mileage that was advertised on the sticker and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem. Previously, I had a 2000 Civic EX coupe, bought new and kept for 6 years with a little over 100k miles and it got pretty much the mileage that was advertised on the sticker, so I don't believe it's my driving habits. I might also add that before taking delivery on my current Civic, I drove a brand new one, exactly the same,as my current one, except for color, and though I only put about 500 miles on it before taking delivery on the one I own now, it experienced the same milelage that I'm getting on this one. The best thatI getin the city is about 26-28 mpg and on the highway about 35-37mpg. I fill it up each time, righ to the brim, so that I see fuel starting to pool just short of spilling out the filler tube. What I have noticed is that if I just run a full tank down only a few gallons, the actual mileage figures are even worse. I only actually get the above figures whan I get close to an empty tank. Is anyone else experiencing any problems like this?

98 Civic EX. I get about 15 MPG with very slow driving. Less if I drive like a mad person.

Something is wrong with her me thinks. LOL
