Default life of hondas

Hey guys, I'm currently looking for a Honda, something with 2 doors and a 5spd, but I don't want to bastardize it with all the stuff you see people doing to them. I was curious about whether it would be unwise to buy a Honda with over a 100,000 miles on it. I always hear that Hondas and japanese cars run longer than most other makes, but then again sometimes it just depends on how well it was taken care of. But I just wanted to get some Honda owners' opinion on the topic, because its tough to find one that is under 100,000. Do they still retain their power, and reliability at that age? Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks

i bought my 95 civic 5 speed and it had 192,000 miles on her, and still runs like a champ...civic run for ever if they are taken care of properly....try not to look at civics that have been modified by some punk kid like myself unless of course they do modifying right like myself, cause you always run the risk of something failing

Like it's been said, try to find an unmodified one, and if possible one that wasn't owned by a kid... You could find a modified civic owned by a kid that would be great, ore one that has been poorly modified and beaten to death... 50 years old women are usually more gentle with their cars

Just do a google search for 900000 mile civic. LOL

Yes I bought mine with 130000 and it runs GREAT! Honda is safe. Just have it checked before you buy it.

my civic was bought brand new in 02, has about 62k in it, runs very smoothly. its all about the owner and how well they take care of their civic.

As long as you get it checked out you should be ok with a civic, they will last forever[&:] but just to be safe unless you know how it has been driven I would stick to buying an un modified car driven by someone who is not a kid, I am a kid and even though I dont abuse my car I know how some of my friends drive

Yeah I was lucky enough to get mine from a college girl that just used it to get to school. She got it new when she was 18 and never abused it.

Hella cute too

Mine has 176k miles on it and runs strong. Just make sure you change the timing belt, I still need to do mine, I'm afraid to drive these days. Good thing about a honda though, is when the motor blows, you can just swap in a bigger one
