Run a carfax.
Why were the bumpers and hood replaced?
looks clean, but looks can be deceiving

They bumpers were replaced supposedly because they were nasty and this winter wasn't good to them?? Fishy. I'm planning on checking out the car on Thursday. (Tomorrow)

I just talked with him and it seems that the engine was rebuilt when the previous owner put a JDM CTR head on it. He still has the stock head too, woo woo.

He says that he has receipts for the tranny rebuild and engine rebuild. This is sounding promising...

well the bumpers can be from just light parking lot damage.... look under the rear bumper behind it for any bent damage noticable... and in the engine bay arorund the radiator suport.... just as long as everything looks unbent or very minor or replaced... i wouldnt worry to much about it....

remember carfax is only good for accidents THAT WERE REPORTED.
doesnt include if 2 uninsured drivers collide and dont call the cops or if they drive thru a mail box or back into something they didnt see behind them.LOL

best thing you can do for yourself is look over it really well!!!!!!
good luck. i wouldnt mind a SI but my sohc vtec has enough power for me, so dont feel like loosing any MPG. since that was my main reason for having a honda in the first place. [8D]

$5500 for that is a very good deal. Too bad he put all that money into it and never bought better shocks/struts/lowering springs

He reverted it back to stock apparently. The previous owner chopped the original springs instead of doing it the right way.

only 2 things i can say bad about it from those pictures is 1 hes a smoker so interior needs a good cleaning! 2 center console lid looks busted its not sitting straight!

Wow, good eye Addiction!! I noticed the crooked armrest cover but not the pack of cigs on the passenger's seat...

...Man, this car could be a really good deal and I don't want to pass it up. But on the other hand, I don't want to part ways with my baby yet. She still has a lot of life and I don't want to sell it to a ricer! Can I justify having two cars?

hell ya you can.... hahhahaha i got a bunch of cars...
94civic 5speed fun/beater
99civic auto cruiser/stylen

94chevy fullsize truck work pig
66impala old school cruiser
and even a 77 school bus for the hell of it.
hell ive even got my own semi trailer out back for storage....

just about every vehicle has its own USE. besides the bus.LOL
its always good to have a backup vehicle... what sucks is paying for insurance for all of them.lol

only other thing i might worry about is the speedo... the TENTH number is stuck half way..... that seems odd to me.
that may mean posible rollback milage.. just a MAYBE. could just be a screwie cluster.
id carfax it still tho.

i know ya want it and it does seem like a steal but ya never know..... try to use good judgement.
look very closely at the whole car...

EDIT.... i must say tho im curious WHY he didnt post any engine bay pictures.... that part seems fishie to me.... hell thats the main thing that makes a SI a si.LOL that would be my first picture!
