So im a newbie to civics, and Im going to get my first car soon[civic] And I was woundering witch one should I get. Thinking some kind of EX mabye?

I want somthing affordable, thats pretty fast{stock}, and really low on insurance. Somthing that is easy to upgrade too. No sports cars, and thats about it. No new cars either, since insurance is a killa here.lol

So civic fans, what do you recomend I should check out?

 

hmm well this is my bias opinion, i would get an EK coupe 96-00 EX. or if u can offord a VERY nice stock car would be the 2000 civic si. but it depend on how much ur willing to spend.

 

92-95 Civic Si if you can find one unmolested (which is probably next to impossible) or an EX.

there dirt cheap and have tons of aftermarket support so increasing performance is pretty easy (but not necessarily cheap).

 

Def get an EX trim if you can, easier to modify for performance and has v-tec.

 

get a 00 si! i got one and its so fun to drive and there is like a respect factor that goes into play. like when i pull up to the local get togethers... dudes are always complimenting me on my ride... 9 outta 10 civics on the road are not the si's so when people see one they respect that.

 

I really love the Si's, however I think there qualified as a sports car[on insurance] anyone know if thats correct? And ex's, are they sports cars acrording to insurance companies? Im a young driver so insurance is already a killer.[:'(]

I think the si might be but I know that the EX models aren't cause I got one and my insurance is pretty good.

 

lol all civic are sports cars well to me they are but they color of u car can also make ur insurance go up too so.....

 

o ya..... id say 96-00 EX coupe or hatch....

shouldnt be much rust on the car yet and tons of aftermarket parts... JUST DONT GO CHEAP cause its thier.... spend the extra money for quality parts youll be glad you did!!!!!!!

i wouldnt say SI cause of insurance... BUT you can ALWAYS do a engine swap to the SI motor... and that way your insurance company doesnt know.LOL only downfall is IF your car gets stolen and striped..... well i dont think id want to claim the SI motor.....

 

the si will raise your insurance of your car by a bit (not incredible) but color has nothing to do with insurance... many people may think that because they say cops are attracted to certain colors which is bogus... that is considered profiling and thats illegal.
