The real trick is finding one for under $5k with less than 100k mile on it with a 5 speed. Damn near impossible.

That will not happen these days. Not with gas prices. Everyone has caught on to the excessive fuel economy these cars get. They are worth more their weight in gold. My car alone is saving me over $2000 a year in fuel. You do not have to fill it with premium and it gets twice what other vehicles on the road do. If I even came across another deal like the one I have, I would buy it up to resell it. The NADA and KBB values of hondas are off if you compare them to what these cars are actually listing/selling for.

Civics do tend to run long and strong, however an intake and exhaust won't fix any problems it has from mileage... I suggest you fix anything that's broken first. Then you'll really get the enjoyment of performance in the long run.

A little tip on fuel economy. Add acetone to your tank for 20%+ fuel economy gains. I have been doing it now for months and it works great. Check out this link for specifics:

Idk its probably based on location because i havent seen a spike in any Honda price(except s2k). Here in Houston Civics are really cheap.
I guess that could be because everyones driving vettes,Mustangs, supras etc. but who knows.
With the affordability of cars nowadays because of the economy there wont be much to worry about.
Some really High priced cars are going for insane prices.
