mod or get a dif. car?

tiger jdm. search their site for what you want. (if i were you, i would...) put a b20b or z in if youre gonna go through all the trouble of doing a swap. LS motor is good if you are going to boost it, but based on the budget, id say shoot for the best n/a bang for your buck. b20b with cams, I/H/E, and properly tuned will be enough to surprise you. plenty o' torque.

There are no b20's on that site.... What about a H22a obd1? They have that complete, 5 speed tranny for $1330. Dont those things put out 190hp? Why is the obd2 so much more expensive?
Also, when I get a new engine, will I need to get new motor mounts, an ecu... etc?

Definitely b18 a or b, for your bang and buck. I got hasport mounts $300 dollars, integra axles from the junk yard along with shift linkage for about $100, and for the motor and tranny i paid $800 from the junkyard, my old setup was run on an obdo ecu.

dont buy it on ebay. hit up craigslist, ask the kids on the street, hit up honda meet stops or back street drags. if you buy it at shop your going to pay shop prices. if you buy it on the street your going to pay street prices =)I bought a LS once for $600 and bought a b16 tranny for $400 so for 1k I had a full motor and tranny. or look for a junk yard as scrapn92lx said.

imo, it is much easier to just sell your car and get a manual then to do a swap.
but if you're set on keeping this civic, then..
if you had a d series manual, i'd tell you to boost. but you don't
so i'd say swap in almost any b-series for cheap and then boost.
or research how to do a cheap k swap, with k20a3 or k24a1, then n/a mod or boost

Whats the average price for a k20?
I found a H22a obd1 with less than 35K on it, with a 5speed man. tranny, the engine is complete for $1330 off tiger jdm.
I will call some local junk yard.
What all will I need to get to complete the swap?

I think it was a Honda tuning article, google it, swap for cheap.
H22 is never worth it IMO
If you want budget, go turbo d
If you want more potential than a d, then a b has the same if not more potential than an h and you don't have to deal with frm sleeves.
And a k is always the best route in potential, n/a or boost
