My 91 civic got totaled
I have owned my 91 Civic Dx for 13 years. Three years ago I had a B16a VTEC installed. After that it was a new, lower suspension, Blox racing manifold, Skunk throttle body etc. On Oct 28 I was traveling on the highway and hit from behind by a drunken driver. The insurance company totaled my car. It still runs great but the rear of the frame is bent.
What can I do? I don't want to lose all the good stuff I had in this great car and I am not in any position to buy a new one. I do not think the frame can be fixed.
I would appreciate any ideas.
I live in North Carolina and don't think there are any mechanics here who can work on anything but Fords, Dodges, and farm tractors.
Peace,
Wayne

You can use those parts to swap a later model. Tell the insurance company you want to "retain salvage", they will pay you less but you keep the car. Remove the engine, etc. and transfer it to another Civic later.
mk387,
Thank you for your help.
My Civic has been found to have no frame damage so I am having a good bodyshop repair my Dream Machine. I am probably going to have the whole car repainted as well.
Again, thank you.
