As I am a new Honda Civic Owner (1999 DX Coupe) (see https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_356293/tm.htm for more info about my new honey), I have been trying to learn as much as I can about the car.

Then I stumbled across this article (http://www.kanetix.ca/ic_auto_news_byte_auto_12) Seems that theives share the same taste for good vehicles (without anti-theft devices).

Question: What sort of anti-theft device should I look at? Can't afford too much but I'd like to have some sort of deterrant so I don't get my heart broken!

 

yep i totally agree that it is a highly stolen car..
mine almost got stolen in ocean city 2 years ago what saved my car was my airbag suspension they couldn't figure out how to get it off the ground to turn the wheels had it started and took the driver glass off the track without breaking the window disassembled whole ignition and hot wired it without out breaking anything...
so anti theft
1. airbags expensive
2. grant steering wheel that pops off and locks $300
3. good ole fashion alarm $300
4. fuel cut off switch cheap

thats a couple of ways to keep your car yours. but nothing is truely anti theft if they made it they can figure a way around it..dirty bastards

I think the reason they are getting stolen alot is beacause there is alot out there and they all look similar

 

yea. theres so many. its not like a really rare car thats easy for cops to spot if they're searching for one. and theyre not extremely valuable.. so i can imagine a lot of cops wouldnt really take looking for one too seriously.

you best believe if i caught the btich who stole my civic.. they'd be beggin for me to turn them into the police instead of what i'd do to em.
