my ex makes a blow off valve sound in between gear shifts, is this normal? its a quiet whistle but i had a buddy of mine drive my car by so i could listen for it and i could clearly hear it, not quite a wrx sound but noticable. i have a short ram intake and thats all. i jus didn know if my engine is dying or what.

What kind of "turbo" sound? Compressor surge or whistle? Id check vaccuum lines and etc. I doubt your engine is releasing pressure into the open atmosphere.

 

If your n/a civic makes a true BOV sound then youve got problems buddy.

 

It sounds like its the intake, they tend to make an air noise.

My CAI used to do that. Putfile seems to have deleted my video but when i get home I'll repost it so you can compare the sound. I'm guessing that's what it is.

 

yeah my SRI on the accord i had was really loud in high RPMs...

 

Yeah, mine use to sound slightly similar I guess.
