My buddy just got a rx-8 with an auto lol and he is already sizing up my 99 si. I have the sir2 b16 with intake and a tanabe racing medalion cat back. Do i even stand a chance at him in the straits? p.s the rx8 is bone stock

 

If you can drive you could make a race out of it. The manufacturer claims 197hp and 159tq with a chasis weight of about 3,000lbs.Dont race him off the line cuz the rx-8 is RWD andhas factory LSD and will launch much better than a civic. Would be curious to see who wins though.

 

yea, a roll will give you a second or two advatage becuase it will take the rx-8's tranny that long to decide what gear to go into...depending on what speed you go from.

 

if you really want to make a race out of it, race him before he puts anything on that rx-8. I'd say if you can drive, get him while you still have the chance to win... keep it safe!

my friend has an rx8 and SHE has raced me before. not really a race or whatever but i did keep up with it. off the line though, its gone.

 

You might have a torque adavantage for the first gear but then.... youll see rx tail lights.

I wouldnt say "killed" He'll probably lose, but rx8's (especially in auto form) are nothing to write home about
