Cool My speedometer Has Torrets!!

Okayyy so I fully believe that my speedometer has torrets!! It doesn't tell me how fast I'm going it just bounces around to whereever it wants to be. I have fiddled with the sensor and such to make sure that it was plugged in and what not and it STILL does it...

quite frankly it drives me nutso...

Any suggestions?

I have a feeling either 1-The Sensor is bad or 2-I'll need a new gaurge cluster.

Does the odometer keep rolling steady like it should? If that's the case the sensor is OK, the problem is the speedometer head itself.

It goes steady then it starts bouncing around inbetween 40-60mph and keeps doing it idk it drives me nuts!!

Usually I notice (i did a few trial and error things) the slower I speed up it doesn't do it, but if i speed up rly quick then it goes nutso. Like its not comprehending where it should be at kind of liek a delayed reaction and it will keep twitching until I stop.

mine does the same thing, except most of the time it just sits way past the highest speed side on the bottom. The all of a sudden it starts bouncing around. The odometer is still racking up the miles though.

i had the same problem before, but it was a short on my engine wiring harness, that could be it.

does it pop up above your actual speed you're driving or just doesn't go up the the speed you're going? and is your odometer still clocking fine like the guy above asked?

Mine goes above the speed and bounces around. Odometer still working normal.
I don't mean to hijack the thread but I am having the same problem.

i say replace the speed sensor (its on the trans) and if that dont fix your problem then you have a short in the speed sensor plug.
