Please can you confirm regular left hand thread on the crank bolt removal. I have bars and bolts in the pulley holes to keep the engine from turning and this thing does not want to break loose. I have a four foot pipe on a 1/2 drive ratchet and it won't budge. Just wanted to make sure this comes off in the same direction as all regular bolts.

It may also help to soak the crank pulley bolt in PB Blaster prior to attempting removal. Don't damage the crank pulley with those inserted bolts. The special hex tool is a safer bet.

 

use an high powerd air gun thats what i did

 

Air gun is best.

If it's a manual transmission, you can prevent the engine from turning by shifting into 4th gear and either have someone hold the brake pedal down or put something in the slot of the brake rotor(s) so the wheels can't turn. Putting bolts in the pulley holes is likely to bend or break something.

 

good luck to you to get it off. i had to use an I-R impact wrench that hits 900 ft/lbs and it still had some difficulty. PB blaster works wonders.
