need help - Newbie - 2008 Honda Civic LX Price
I am a newbie shopping for a new 2008 Honda Civic LX Auto. Below is the quote I got from a dealer.
MSRP - $18395
Total Selling Price - $16900
Total - $18155 (inclusive of tax, registration, license etc)
Total price also includes splash guards and premium paint protection.
Would like to know if this is a good deal. Also please advice on how to bargain so that I can end up on a lower price.
Thanks.

If you want to bargain you need to threaten them and also bull**** your way through, this is simple really. Tell them you went to another honda dealership and they gave you a cheaper price but all you can afford is X ammount of dollars (be reasonable). Just by having this conversation you should be able to tell if he's willing to go lower or not, and if you see that he may but is saying no than tell him you are leaving and going to a different dealer, tell him/her a friend of yours in a different state bought his/her honda for X ammount of dollars (make up story), it may work It did for me, thats how I brought the price from 10K to 7K for my 01 EX but than again that was a used car I never bought a brand new car so i don't know if that is a bit different.
Don't feel bad for the dealers, they got money and will make money out of every sale, you just want to get it for as cheap as possible

Also, a good little trick i learned:
Go at the end of the month, those salesmen want to meet their quota, going in at the end of the month just puts more pressure on them to do as much as they can to get the sale for the month.

I got a 2008 civic lx coupe, i went to kelly blue book [www.kbb.com] and got a print out of there price for the civic and for my trade in. The dealer wasn't to eager to deal cuz Hondas sell so well in my area but i showed him the price for the civic and said i wanted the high end for my trade. He matched them both. The civic was 18,104 and i got 9,000 for my trade. I figured that was about 9,104 for a new civic - i was ok with that.
