Default Need help please!

o.k. so there's this one guy who has a 1988 mustang 5.0 he hates civic's with a passion. Well I opened my mouth and challenged him to a race at the end of the year to a race. Well I have a 2000 civic ex coupe d16y8 I want to build it to beat this mustang I don't know what I need to do so I need all the help I can just to shut this guy up and show him 4-cylinders aren't crap. So anyone out there with info on what to do to my civic without turbo or boost let me know. Right know I have a skunk2 im and skunk2 68mm tb a cold air intake and cheap header back exhaust from ebay. I want to change my exhaust to a dc sports 1 piece header, magnaflow cat, and an apexi ws2 exhaust. So someone please help me.

your best hope is to get some coilovers and take him to an autocross. Fox body stangs are pretty nasty stock and can be made into beasts relitively cheaply. If your drag racing, turbo your motor, get an lsd, a good clutch, axles, and some slicks. All that might be overkill, but its just as easy to make a sleeper stang as it is a civic, if not moreso.

just don't waste your time racing him and learn to keep your mouth shut! lol that car will beat you in reverse. if you want to stay n/a with a d series, you won't even be beating corollas.

Prior to my brother having his rsx-s, he had a fox body 5.0, and that thing was scary easy to make fast...

keeping your mouth shut and not challenging a car that's got 4 more cylinders

would be a good start

I understand your dilemma. The fox (gay) body mustangs are ugly as hell, but sadly they are fast. Challenge him to an autocross. That way, there's more of a chance that you can get closer to even. I feel that autocross has some to do with the car and a lot to do about the drivers ability.

lol man there have been like 3 threads latley about "How can i built my car to beat this car?" Dont worry about it man, a Civic and a Mustang are in two different leagues, dont even worry about it and you shoulda kept your mouth shut i mean you could COMPLTELY rebuild, bore it out, turbo it like non other, throw some nitrous in there, a Stage 3 clutch and 3" exhaust, then maybe you could take him.

Have you tried putting stickers on your car yet? That might work.
