NEED opinion... CAI w/aem bypass valve or SRI intake?
what do you guys suggest?
IM TORN....
i just shortened my old cold air intake to be a SRI and painted it bacl as well as filled 2 holes and moved them to the bottom to be hidden but still functional....
and then i got my AEM bypass valve in the mail that i forgot i bought.LOL
now im stuck with a decision..... SRI or CAI w/bypass. both will keep motor from hydroloc and both should look nice.....
and i have both ready to either be bolted on or just modify my CAI and put the valve on it.
going to swap either tonight or tomorow. more hard rain to come in my area and with my ride lowered and so much rain twice already im geting scared of hydrolocking the motor...
current
modified intake. sorry crappy picture.

how does it restrict anything.... its as large as the tube and its a staight thru design....
i guess im just gonna instal it and see how it looks as a SRI.

ok well just instaled the short ram intake i made..... figured either way id have to pull the CAI either way.... i had to cut it alittle shorter to fit the filter since it was hiting the AC lines.
BEFORE
difference.
AFTER instaled
still gotta clean up the wires alittle under the hood. and paint a few more things.....
i think it looks decent tho... and best of all should stay out of the water!
havent driven the car yet so not sure if it sounds different or not. i got no reason to drive right now.
im gonna keep the chrome looking CAI and not sure what ill do with it just yet.... i may just paint it and instal it with the new bypass valve. it looks good either way..... not sure how ill keep it just yet...

SRI.
1) easier to change the filter
2)very smallpower difference bewteen the 2. I have had both on my car at some point and the difference is not noticeable.

ya ive been meaning to redo the ground wires and this time hide the motors ground wire on the back of the motor. 1/0gauge wire is some serious wire.
redo those ground wires to be hidden, relocated alarm siren and remove that red wire runing thru the engine bay, and paint/polished Vtec valve cover for better looks. paint cheap strut brace, as well as a few other parts painted black to match.
also gotta clean under the hood again and then start working on my (roll call board) for under the hood.... so i can show off my added brand parts but keep them hidden as well.
work in progress i guess.
also WOW im shocked my long posts are actualy going thru!
