Default New Radiator Install (Pics)

Well Iv been running with a cracked radiator for about 2 months now, it was a slow leak but non the less I had to fill it with water twice a day and it made my engine bay dirty as hell cause it would spray water all over the place when Id gun it. Anyway, I finally bought a new all aluminum race radiator off eBay and put it in tonight.

New all aluminum radiator

Old radiator coming out, all that white residue on the dizzy and header cover is from the cracked radiator.

The state of the old radiator, well it is 16 years old

Well the egg in the radiator thing should be on Mythbusters.

It says it has twice the cooling capacity of the stock unit, it is twice the size. But if it doesnt thats fine too.

it looks nice, but twice the size doesn't mean twice the cooling. i read an article (forget which magazine..maybe grm) where they tested a stock sti, then replaced the radiator with the biggest/thickest aftermarket product (forget the company...to be fair it was a while ago when i read it. ) and tested it again..then used a third radiator that was closer to orginial spec as far as size...and the third one was the best, the largest i think had a slightly negative effect..and the stock one was ok to begin with.

Like I said before, I dont care if it doesnt cool twice as well as the stock one, a stock rad would be fine for my car but its got that plastic **** on it that will just crack again down the road. I bought this one cause its all aluminum and should hold up better.
