Default No DX Model in California, US?

I'm so, so disappointed. I was looking forward to purchasing a DX model. I'm dislike power windows (and locks), so the VP isn't an attractive model to me. Oh man--I'm so sad.

AC is okay, but just don't want the power windows and locks. However, I'd go with DX (without AC)--that's how much I want manual locks/windows. I don't like the power thing because it's just one more thing that can break, and I have examples. I keep my cars forever! Also, I have no desire for the feature, so why pay for it.

Can you recommend another car/model that gets good gas mileage and that doesn't have all the options? Toyota is fine by me. Yaris? I dont know. I was so set on the DX.

I bought a new 2000 civic DX in CA, but I don't know if things have changed since.

Default Only 1 in CA

Who--every single Bay Area dealer that I called. All 6. All did an "inventory search" and found only ONE in California--Southern California. They only have DX-VP's.

That model only exists so they can advertise a low price. They want to make it hard for anyone to actually buy one.
