No REVERSE Gear, SHIFT Problem's, HELP!!
Hey,
So Today I noticed when I bring the car up above 6k, it grind HARD going into third. First time it happened, it scared me bacause i have barley EVER grinded a gear before with this car. I just recently installed a short throw shifter(B&M) I Did NOT put the plastic bushings back between the change rod and the shifter it self, I just used the B&M bushings as i could not fit the stock ones and them in.
My change rod is slightly rusted, and I can almost squeeze the fork together if I tried, its slightly weak. If I purchased a new one, would it improve the play i have on the shifter in the gear?
Now the large grind into 3rd is scary, butr fixable, right?
The MAJOR problem is that I have NO REVERSE now. I cannot coax it into reverse, I have all other gears, except reverse. I can't even put it manually into reverse under the car with my hands on the change rod.
Question is, how much am I going to have to replace, as my baby is at the Honda dealership, and going to be looked at tomorrow, please help guy!

might sound lame, but ya sure you put the shifter in right and not reversed?
if it started grinding after the short shifter being instaled then i would unbolt the shifter and turn it 180degrees and see how it acts after that.....

You should know, that underneath a Civic(00) the shifter is straight, and completly reversable(atleast the B&M i have) is. But yes, it is installed correct.
It worked great after i installed it(3 weeks ago) it worked great until today....
