It's usually best to take your car to several places for estimates. There can be a big difference in cost. There can also be a huge difference in quality. You typically get what you pay for. An important question is how good a paint job do you want?

It depends if you want the car painted the same color as before. Because if it's painted a different color, they will have to get inside the engine bay (optional I guess) inside the doors, and oncertain places if not all the metalunder the carpets and panelsinside the car. If you want to paint the car the same color, you could tell them all you want is the whole outside done and nothing else. You could deal with Maaco, they do a good job (from my experience) and they arn't very expensive.

MY dad painted his 96 civic Lx at Maaco about 2 yrs ago..We go the hook up because my older brother is a good friend of the owner of that shop. We got the most expensive paint with some minor body work for 850.00 out the door. The paint up to now it still looks just the day it left the shop. He got it painted again the same color . It's called Granada black something like that.

I say shop around. Keep on mind if you go a different color than what you got now. You got to keep on consideration it will cost more to paint all the door jams, under the trunk and hood and engine bay too match the outside or it will look freaking UGLY if you don't do it right!!!! If you are just looking to paint the outside the same color you would save a lot of money.
Good luck

well a tip, if u sand down ur car and primer first, which isnt very hard but is time consuming (maybe 2-5 days). it could save u alot of money. just get about 5 cans of primer and some sand paper and spend some time with ur baby. should save u a few bills
