Performance or ??
the rust doesn't look too bad... mine actually rusted through into the trunk... anyway, technically for anything more than surface rust, you should weld in new metal, but I'm too lazy for that lol... I just fiberglassed all my stuff. Your rust doesn't look too bad.... just sand down (if you have the patience) or grind off the rust and fiberglass over it (I doubt any moisture is going to get through the fiberglass)... with the roof, I'm not really sure what to tell you... if it were my car, I'd probably fiberglass it, but that's just how I roll lol... Either way, you're either going to have spots of primer on your car, or you're going to need a new paint job.
Is it possible to have just the spots sprayed as in when im done the rust repair? I might just leave the roof for now as they are not very noticable unless in bright sun like the pics. If I have to get a new paint job I might just sell the car after repairing it, lol. Also I might take it to a body man to fix the roof area.(boy that still pisses me off today that someone did that[:@]if only I could have caught them)
[:@]hmmm, now I have to decide if Im going to fix it up and continue the project, or fix it up and return it to oem (only have to remove my springs/shocks and short shifter) and sell it. I've actually been pondering this idea for a long time as I was thinking of getting a newer coupe or hatch (say 98-01) and doing a k swap later and then drive it for at least 5 years. But I just cant force myself to sell this hatch (yet)always wanted one lol.So many decisions......
welcome to my world
I've thought about selling my civic at least 5 times now... actually, I did the body work just to get some more money when I sold it.. obviously, I opted not to sell it lol

Im thinking I probally won't sell mine either, too much of wasting money doing that, hey yours is a eg coupe isn't it? Do you have ac in it? Thats the only thing I could ask for in my car is ac, otherwise I like the car and in general the 5th gen civics.
yup... it's a '94 ex coupe... power moonroof, power locks, power steering, cruise control, a/c, etc. the only thing i don't like about it is that it's an auto, but that'll be fixed in the next month or so
actually, if I do get the b18, I'm going to have to give up my a/c for a little while until I can get an a/c bracket for the b18[sm=boohoo.gif]
And yeah, keeping your car is a better idea... selling privately takes forever and you never get what you want for it trading it in (back when I was looking at that base-model rsx, I was offered $500 trade-in for my civic... yeah right!)

lol I cant believe that trade in value. How stupid do they think we are hey? Anyways yours is pretty loaded then, Im looking to go more track/speed needs with mine because unlike yours, mine has no power options at all and is a bottom end model (weighs nothing, I think it is the lightest of the civic's) which sucks as well though for dd. Are you going with a b18b? Ive been thinking about getting that engine too and then turbo it later
Yeah, it has pretty much every feature you could get back in '94... I had power mirrors, but some ******* trying to break into my car got pissed when the doors were locked so he kicked both of my mirrors off... and, well... manual m3 mirrors were cheaper that stock-replacement power mirrors lol
I'm either swapping my transmission and turboing my d16z6 or I'm going with a b18c (gotta keep the vtec lol) and turboing a few years down the road.

Sounds like a good plan and something similar to what I am going to do. First things first though, repair the rust spots and get some wheels/tires on the car. The snow will be gone by the end of this month so that means the steelies and winter tires come off to save the tread. If only I had more $$[:@]
