I have 2001 Civic LX, recently i installed a set of dc headers from an EX model. Today was rainy day and as i was driving thru a puddle i notice that my car was making a funny noise, it began to shake, this happend for a second or two. every puddle i went thru this same senario happend. I have no idea what is going on but this is begining to bug me hopefully this is not serious. Please help

 

Um, I dont see how a header is going to cause those problems. Is it loose? Did you use a torque wrench and tighten it down to specs?

 

Do you have a ram air intake of any type? If you do, you may be sucking up water into the motor.

 

You mean Cold Air. If youre short ram intake is sucking up water youd have bigger problems to deal with lol.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it's still doing it later, and it's definitely not the header.

 

I currently have a short ram i have had that thing for about a year now driven it thru water before no problem.


I will look in to seeing if the header might be loose, thou it look tight to me i had it professionally installed.

 

I agree with the prior post. It has nothing to do with the header. Either the water is getting splashed up onto something and is causing a short or water is getting into your intake.

Whatever it is please update once you know.

 

I will wait till the rain stops and hopefully this will stop but for now i will park it
