I have a 98 civic ex with 110,000 miles on it, needs a new clutch, window motor, compressor, and has a few small dents. Probably needs a new paint job. I've changed out all the necessities, runs great, and just installed new exhaust system, radio, and tail lights. How much would one of you guys offer? *(I'm not looking for real offers, just theoretical ones.)
My offer would be like $2500 because it needs a new clutch and compressor. Where I live, A/C is a must. Also, if you say it needs a new paint job it probably doesn't look that great, which would also lead to a lower offer.
Post some pics of the paint and the interior so we can have a better idea of how clean it is.

id say 2-3K with all them problems..... the clutch is a biggie.... nobody wants to buy a car that needs work to really drive it!!!! if you want more $$ fix that clutch! if you replace the clutch and then sell the car for what it cost you to replace the clutch then it will sell alot easier! or if you do it yourself youll be able to make more money
Well, the clutch isn't like malfunctioning or anything, it just squeaks occasionally when you push it in. I wouldn't say it's too noticeable, however, I failed to mentioned there's a small break in the rear bumper. The paint defects aren't horrible, could probably be fixed without a whole new paint job. New estimates? =D
what's the kelley blue book value? look it up at kbb.com
then, i would probably go $400 under that kbb value due to that being about the price it would cost to replace the compressor yourself and get the system evactuated and recharged, and then subtract maybe another $50 for the labor that you will have to do to replace it.
i just replaced my a/c compressor. the remanufactured compressor was $260 and my evacuation and recharge service (required - do NOT fill it yourself unless you have the proper vacuum equipment) was $110. Also, you need to replace the receiver/drier when opening the system, which is about $30.
Add that all together and you get $400 for parts and the recharge.
Then idk, $50 for your labor.
That A/C really is a big deal on how much it's worth. Not many people are going to want to buy a car without A/C, making it harder for him to sell.
If the clutch just squeaks, it's probably not a big deal. Check out this thread: https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...queakin+clutch
