Default Questions For 06 Civic Owners..

I have some questions for the new civic owners..

1.) Could you possibly calculate how many MPG you get and post them in this thread..because MPG is very important to me..and I was thinking about purchasing this car but am not going to if it the MPG sucks.

2.) Does the Dashboard get annoying at night time? Is the blue extremely bright and distracting?

Thanks for your help!

The dash doesn't annoy me. I actually find it inviting. You can adjust the brightness by the way.

I will get back to you on the MPG. But, I wouldn't worry about it, you will get good mileage. There is no doubt of that.

hi, don't worry about the interior lighting, you can adjust it. it does not get annoying. and i think that the placement is better because you don't have to keep on looking down to know how fast you are going.

i get 28-30 mpg in the city and 35-38 on the highway for my honda civic si 2006. you get better mpg for the ex, lx and dx. i heard you get 30city/40highway for them.

On the left side of the steering wheel is a select button with a + and - next to it. Play with the + and - till you are content.

I'm getting around 35 mpg on my LX MT. Mix of city/highway around 65/35.

Preference is going to be up to you. If you like rowing through gears get the manual. I have had my share of manuals and autos, but I drive a lot in the city now so it made sense for me.

The auto will get better mileage because it is computer controlled and it has lower gearing. Plus it will be easier to sell when that time comes. Just a thought.

On my 2006 Civic LX sedan, the dash lighting is adjusted by + and - buttons on the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel. The buttons are easy to reach, and, you can vary the dash lights (including the digital speedo) all the way from really bright (at night) to totally off! ("Gee officer, I really did not know how fast I was going--look--my dashboard lights are out.";-)

Still testing the milage thing, but with just under 1,000 miles on my new engine, my report might be more "real-world" later on when the engine is a little less tight, I suspect. Based on the EPA (estimated) numbers (30 city/40 hiway), I'd expect to average somewhere around 30-something MPG in combined city/hiway driving. That's allowing for the EPA "guestimate" milage.
