quick CAI noob question

kinda. you probably get like 1 more hp with a CAI over a SRI... not enough to make a difference, especially since an SRI is cheaper than a CAI. The reason for more HP with the cold air intake is it's getting a little bit colder air than the SRI.

Do you regularly drive through puddles/lakes, so much so that you would completely submerge the air filter in water? If not, you have no need to worry about hydro-locking.

a bypass valve takes back power that you gain from the CAI. With a bypass valve on a CAI, you basically are making as much power as a SRI, and the SRI costs less. therefore, bypass valves are a waste of money.
