Default Recent Starter Prob Question

Earlier I had a problem when i went to start my car, my lights would blink and my alarm would set when i went to start the car and it would take me 2 to 5 tries before the engine kicked on. I asked a mechanic to get a second opinion and he said it was my starter. He said it was a cheap after-market starter that was a high amp and was pulling to much energy to start the car therefore draining my battery. So I put in a stock starter and put a new high battery.

My question is has anyone ever came across this problem because I first thought it was my alternator but he said it was charging fine.

Usually that is just bad connections at the battery. Never heard of this "high amp starter" situation. Civics do tend to run better on stock parts than many of the alleged "high performance" ones.
