S2000 Motor
Any1 know how much it will cost me to get a K22C1 (s2000 motor i believe). Not for my civic, for my 97 Accord LX Sedan (actually its my moms car but i think i mite have a shot of getting it)
Hmm. The S2000 head on the Accord block is a good idea, except for these simple problems...
1) The engines spin in different directions.
2) Thus (as a consequesce of 1) the camshafts are on opposite sides of the engine
3) The S2K uses a timing chain
4) The cylinders don't even line up
5) It won't work.
Sorry. I just had to.
But seriously, if you want to do something with the Accord F22, get a F22A1 block, stick an H22 crank and rods in there, get some forged pistons and a 1G DSM turbo...

Thx for crushing my dreams there Kappa. I really wanted to have an s2k motor. I still wanna build up that Accord (i also have a '94 civic LX) but i was thinking to get an H22 swapped in with performance internals (pistons, rods, crank, cam, the whole deal). As i am not proficient enough to do the swap my self (i could prolly put the internals in but i really don't have a clue when it comes to engine swaps) i would have to have a shop do the swap (or my dad's mechanic, but i dunno about him) how much do you think this would run me, i live in Chicago. I wanna T/C later on if i have the money, summer job is prolly gonna finance the build up but i wanna do the engine first. About the F22A1, the accord i have comes with a non vtec engine so i assumed that it wouldn't get as much as an H22, but im pretty sure that the H22 will cost loads more.
H22 imported directly from japan, used with under 30000 miles - 1300
You might wanna do the work yourself, getting help from forums and such. It might take a LOT longer, but in the end it will be worth it, because if a problem arises, YOU will know whats wrong. You will also be a lot more familiar with your car and will be all the better for it.
