sandwashing engine??

Default sandwashing engine??

a friend of mine said i should sandwash my engine at a carwash type place. he said itll clean my engine and itll clean the bottom of my car... i neevr heard of this so im curious... has anyone ever sandwashed their engine or car, please explain to me what it is and is it a safe procedure?

I've never heard of that, and would think it'd take the paint right off your engine bay. I'll stick to pressure washing or hand washing, I like my paint where it is.

i guess it's like a wet sandblaster used to remove grime from the engine bay, if you do do it, just be conservative, and try to cover the unwanted areas with a towel or something

I heard of using sand as a degreaser...if that is what was meant - I would stick to conventional degresers which are not as abrasive as sand.

i wouldnt do it at all..on anything. sad will rip that paint right off if theres any kind of pressure behind it.
i would just use the engine degresser that they have at the carwash
man, thats not fair, we dont have that option around here!

its cool.........its not all the special anyways........i mean its like diluted degreaser. im more of a simple green and pressure washer fan, works everytime and leaves no residue.

I wouldn't clean a car with sad either, it'll just get everything depressed

Eh, I would never clean my engine bay like that. I don't even recommend using pressure washers. You would be surprised how easy it is to damage electrical components and cause shorts in the engine compartment. I just use degreaser from a spray can, some rags and a bucket of water.
