Should I get a throttle body?

swapping out the d16y7 intake manifold for the d16y8 will help out alot

Yes there will be a noticeable difference with the Y8 intake manifold. The Y7 has long runners and has restrictive bends in it (the way the TB is mounted). I would think you will see 8-10hp increase at the wheels. You will have better throttle responce to.
