Default SI or EX

I am interested in a 2010ish Civic. Part of me really wants to have fun and buy the SI. But the whole reason I am even going to buy a car is for the efficency of them. The Civic gets roughly 20% worse MPG with stated numbers. I drive mostly highway. It would be nice to have the power if you wanted it. What if you drove the SI like the EX how big of difference would there be in MPG on the highway? I'm talking setting the cruize at 75 and staying out of it?

Thanks in advance!

You should rock the four door si. I love those things lol. practicality speaking ex I believe have longer gear ratios resulting in better gas mileage. Si would be much more fun though... Id go with the Si

get the si dont even need to think about it. i don't see a huge noticeable gas mileage between the si and ex models. and besides civic gets good gas mileage anyways. why not have fun when you want to.

you should still get pretty good gas mileage from the si, the r trannys in the ex are longer, but the si has 6 gears so they are able to give you an "od" as 6th. and when you want the power or need it the si wil have it, ex is a little more sluggish, the r18 isn't very powerful.

SI = K-20 / DX,LX,EX = R-18 also SI mpg city, 21 mpg highway 29 / DX,LX,EX mpg city 26, highway mpg 34. I have a 2009 lx sedan and love it took it to florida in the summer and got 41 mpg highway. The SI is nice but they still have a few problems with the manual 6 speed 2nd & 3rd gear grinding and rear tire wear.

21/29 mpg, are you kidding me?!

Did I miss the part where they added a turbo and more driven wheels?
