when im driving its fine but when at a complete stop i get exhaust fumes in car and get so light headed please help 1995 honda civic ex 1.6

 

I would assume you have a crack in your header, cat, or b pipe causing the fumes to come up into the car when at a stop sign. Does the exhaust sound any louder or raspier? I would get under the car and inspect the exhaust system.

 

are you sure it's exhaust gases and not fuel?

if it is fuel quit driving your car immediately and look for leaks around the fuel rail/injectors.

if it is exhaust gases most likely it's at your exhaust manifold, probably have a crack on one of the runners. And I don't know what your setup is like, but if you have a catalytic converter mounted with the manifold it most likely cracked where the two join together.

set the air to recirculate to keep most of the fumes from entering the car and run with a/c on, windows up.

 

usually one of the gaskets before or after cat.
