ok i know i'm pretty ignorant and i'm not going to pretend like i know a lot about engines and all this other business i only know a little. but, the other day somebody told me that you couldnt put a turbo on a sohc or you'll blow the engine. does anyone know if this true??

yeah the d16 engine can take up to 200bhp without breaking anything, and then the connecting rods become its achilles tendon..

 

I know way too many sohc turbo buddies and I have one myself with around 200 h.p. and it's holdin up pretty well. One thing I was always wondering though does msd ignition help with the engines response or prevention of detonation?

 

Can you turbo a D-series....Im not sure

Thought they would be here saturday, but just my luck they were not, so they will be here tommorow. RC is not open on the weekends, so will have to order the 310 replacement tommorow. So, hopefully when i get off work tommorow, the injectors will be here and i can crank it up

 

Not true at all. A D16Z6 can handle 225WHP on a daily basis given a good tune........WHP not BHP. 258.75 BHP=225WHP. (5 speed)
