Default spark plugs

how much of a difference would be noticed between the different types of spark plugs (copper, platinum, iridium) as far as throttle response and the like? i know one is gonna last longer than others, but is there a real difference performance wise?

Nothing is better than NGK V-power (OEM) for our engines. At $8 a box, you can't argue. All the iridium, platinum, etc. stuff is BS and it doesn't matter. Only difference is they might last a little bit longer. Platinum is supposedly not good to use on our engines though. Iridium isn't worth the money.

Not even then.

All you need is colder NGK V-powers for turbo and the correct gap.

In 99% of applications nothing will perform better than, or be as reliable as stock ignition components.

+1 on stock spec NGK plugs. They only time you should change plug types is when you boost or go high compressoion ect. Even then you only go with a colder plug. Honda new what they were doing when they designed the ignition systems on their motors. Only thing I would do is replace plugs, cap and rotor with OEM a get a set of NGK wires.

ok. so that pretty much proves most of what i read last night false. i also read that plugs should be changed at least every 40,000 miles. honda manual says every 110,000. is there really a reason i should change them earlier than 110,000? right now it's just a daily driver with no mods.

lol
dude, honda service manual says 30,000 miles

that is under normal conditions though.

If you live in somewhere where it gets really hot or really cold for part of the year or you do a lot of bumper to bumper traffic, I would change them every 15,000-20,000 miles.
