Default stalling

So last week I'm driving home from work and my rpm's were going crazy, my ABS and a few other lights were flashing on the dashboard and my radio shut off for about 5 seconds when I would hit the breaks hard.

Eventually my car just died on me on a main road.

I have a 2001 Honda Civic EX w/ about 104k.

I brought it to a mechanic(which happened to be in my family)and he told me it was my computer module, but 5 days later(today)it happened again, but I didn't stall.

I was driving on a main road, I had to hit the breaks hard(NY drivers enough said)and my radio shut off for about 2 seconds, my rpm's were going up & down and the SRS light plus the ABS light came on again.

Does anyone, anyoneeee, have any idea what this could be?

Check the wire connections at the battery. Also check the ground wires connected to the engine at the thermostat.

The radio isn't connected to the engine computer at all. When the radio goes out you have a very fundamental electrical problem, the whole car is losing power.

Let me ask you a question, with all that being said. I owe $2790 on the car, it will be paid off in December. I'm really thinking about getting rid of the car because at 55k the transmission went, I had a problem with the exhaust, then the heatercore had to be replaced.

Is this a big job your talking about? Is it worth fixing and keeping the car you think?

It's likely just a loose wire somewhere. May take a while to find but cheap to fix. Also it could be something like the key switch or an aftermarket alarm.
