Hmm, Whenever i turn my Key..it just makes a Clicking Noise...it wont Start...Battery is fully charged.. but it seems like it's dead. Anyone know what this means?

 

Did the starter give you any trouble before this? Or did it suddenly stop working?

I had the same symptoms twice...on two different cars.

-The first time, the starter needed replacing.

-The second time, the timing belt had failed...basically ruining the engine. It also clicked when I tried to start it.

Check your timing belt just to be sure. Good luck.

 

My experiance is that whenever the car goes click, click, click, ...... the problem is a dead battery. The easiest way to check is to put a voltmeter across the battery terminals. If the voltage is low (like under 10) then the battery might be dead. The second way is a headlight test. Turn on the headlights and try to crank the engine over. If the headlights go dim, then something in your starter is drawing current and if they stay bright then your starter is not drawing current. Once you get the results of the two test (or the headlight only) i can try and help futhur diagnose.

 

We Jumpstarted it and it worked..the battery seems it cant hold a charge. My friend Revved the engine really high and a bunch of gross exhaust came out and the engine started to smoke.. i believe it's just because it is old oil and old gas. so i will probably be trying to get new oil.

 

Pull the battery and have a BATTERY CONDUCTANCE test done on it. Since your battery is dead, a load test will prolly not work. If the State of Health (if its a midtronics tester) is not good then its time to change the battery. If the State of Charge is not good, look at your charging system.

 

how do i do a conductance test on it

 

You need a Conductance Tester which is prolly too expensive for you to buy. My school has one that i've used before but an autoparts store should have one. Take the battery to an autoparts store and tell them to do a conductance test.
