i rarely have any reason to go 80 mph, but since it was a nice day out, i decided to take the civic out for a nice drive.......while going 80 on highway, the steering wheel was shaking.


is this normal or what could be the problem?

2000 ex coupe 5-speed 78,500 miles

 

same with me. Have 2002 ex auto with 76,600 miles and it shakes at that speed too. Im just taking a guess, but do you have big rims like 17' and higher? Just my guess, and yeah i would like other people to answer this

 

no, this car is 100% stock, including stock wheels

 

First thing - are your tires balanced?

 

yeah, that could be the problem

 

I have the same problem but mine shakes at about 70 miles an hour. also at idle is shakes a little. not to much tho

 

My old Corolla did the same thing and that was the problem.

 

almost 95% sure your tires need rebalanced

 

lol most economy cars shake when you go over 70 anyway

 

when i rotated my wheels it did that, but when i got my rims they balanced them for me and it all good now
