Default Stereo Anti-Theft Trick

Hey guys,

Last night, I caught some sneaky bastard trying my door handles and looking in my windows of my Civic, and I wasn't about to let this dick take my hard earned sound system. SoI did some searching and found a few reallygood sites. If you have an aftermarket stereo with a detachable face, check out these links:

Just because the faceplate is detached doesn't mean they won't take it....I learned that the hard way a few years ago.

You didn't beat the crap out of him? I would've.

That's a pretty funny little mod too haha. I love Instructables.

Sorry, by "caught him" I meant I caught him in the act andchased his sorry 16 year old *** with a baseball bat until hestarted sprinting from pure fear and adrenaline, and he got away. We have had SO many car break ins in my neighborhood in the past few weeks and I was taking no chances. The same little **** was probably responsible for all of them....

Anyways, I saved my stock OEM stereo, so I will try that trick tommorow. If that won't work, I already made the fake "already stolen" radio out of my old faceplate holder.

Yeah I'm lucky enough to not really have to worry too much about that kind of stuff. I live in a bad neighborhood but I've been here for over 20 years so people know me and know my stuff so they don't really mess with it. i mean there's always the chance some random crackhead or kid could stroll along and jack my car, but that's just as likely to happen anywhere.

That's great, that reminds me I need to put some kind of lock on my compressor system in my trunk.
